Obviously and in some cases unfortunately, NO, not all the Home
Inspectors are the same
My Name is Tim Spargo, I've been involved in Real Estate, building and Inspection of
Residential and Commercial Construction for over a decade. I pride myself on informing my
clients of their new purchase. It's not my job to "scare" you, only inform you of the accurate
condition of the property you are purchasing. I've met lot's of other Real Estate Inspectors,
some are very good and some aren't.
So, What are the Differences? Isn't it just about price?
Like anything else, nothing is all the same. If you could by a KIA for the same price as a
Mercedes, which would you buy?
- Experience and Knowledge - This is generally what separates a Good Inspector
and Home Inspection Experience from a Bad One. Really! Many Inspectors "decided"
one day to become a professional Home Inspector and to take your Hard earned
money... "just waiting for the Phone to Ring" - Time Spent on Site! Your Inspection should take 2-3 hours if less time is spent, you
probably got "shafted", unless you were having a 1100 sf condo done. - Inspection Report - Did you look at the "Sample Report" before hiring your
inspector??? DID YOUR INSPECTOR EVEN OFFER A SAMPLE REPORT? Why
wouldn't they do that do you think??? Inspection reports aren't exciting reading
and probably won't make book of the month on Oprah :-) But, if you want to know
about your inspector, read their sample report, if it lacks what appears to be
"construction industry knowledge and terms" Guess what, you probably want to keep
looking. By the way, you can LOOK AT MY SAMPLE INSPECTION REPORT BY
CLICKING THIS LINK - A Home Inspection Report should be somewhat long, unfortunately and will
take a while to get through. This is probably one of the largest purchases you are
going to make, you want to be informed... right?
